The Art Museum of South Texas is the only museum in the world that combines the talents of internationally acclaimed architects Ricardo Legorreta and Philip Johnson. The result: a sparkling venue that celebrates art and offers an unparalleled view of the Corpus Christi Bay. Small meeting rooms are available to rent during the day, while rental of the entire facility is only available after hours when the Museum is closed to the public. The Museum is open to the public Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., and 1 – 5 p.m. on Sundays. During the Day
The Art Museum offers several options for holding daytime meetings, conferences or luncheons for up to 50 people. In addition, the H-E-B Auditorium is available for lectures, meetings and conferences with seating for up to 200 people.
After Hours
Art from the Museum’s extensive permanent collection provides a unique backdrop for any formal occasion including weddings, receptions, corporate parties or special events. Each gallery also offers its own appeal. The Chapman Gallery is bathed in natural light from skylights in 12 copper pyramids atop the Miller Building, which was designed by Ricardo Legorreta. The Singer Gallery, located in the Philip Johnson Building, features sweeping floor to ceiling windows which look out onto the Bay as well as the beautiful Corpus Christi WaterGardens. A 60-foot catwalk runs above the Singer Gallery, and leads to a sky-lit gallery on the 3rd level. Additionally, The Dobson Café and its outdoor courtyard in the Miller Building provide a panoramic view of the Corpus Christi Ship Channel.
