The William B. and Maureen Miller Building
In 1997 the South Texas Institute for the Arts initiated fund-raising for a
significant capital expansion in order to better meet its needs for increased
exhibitions and programs. Internationally renowned Mexican architect
Ricardo Legorreta subsequently was hired to design a new building adjacent to
the Art Museum of South Texas on the Bayfront. Ground-breaking for the
new addition took place in October of 2004 and was
opened to the public on October 8, 2006.
