Description:

Richard Stout, a native Texan, born in Beaumont and currently living in Houston, established himself as one of the leading Modernist artists in Texas. This exhibition features 40 two-dimensional works and 10 three-dimensional sculptures from the 1950s through present day, attesting to the artist’s prolific career expanding upon and exploring seascapes, architectural interiors, and surreal combinations of both. Many of his prime expressionist works revolve around his close identification with the Texas coast. Over the years, Stout’s work remains true to these themes and interests. A monograph published by TAMU Press will be available in the Gift Shop.
